Over the last two years, Cleantech has attracted over $3
billion in venture capital. Today, in comparison to other venture capital
sectors, Cleantech is far more geographically dispersed. However, as the
sector matures, consolidation will occur. The key question for New England
is whether it will build on its early strength as the number two region
for Cleantech—and create another Biotech scenario, or whether the region
lose ground. At stake is $1 billion in investment between now and 2012.
